Agreed ways of working are a set of rules and standards that must be followed by people working in particular industries. They are agreed by the workers, employers, and government. These have the force of law, so can only be changed with the agreement of all three parties.

The two pieces of legislation that would affect this are the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Data Protection Act 1998 provides individuals with rights over their personal data and allows them to know where their personal data is held, how it is processed, who it is shared with, and if it has ever been lost or stolen.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives people the right to access any recorded information held by public authorities. This includes government departments but also private companies that provide public services such as hospitals or transport providers.

It is important to have secure systems for storing, recording, and sharing information because it allows you to protect your data from unauthorized access or sharing. A secure system can include a security code that starts the security process, which could be stored on the system itself, or on computer memory. The password should be entered into the store by the user and remembered for future use. The last step in protected storage is communication with the system; this includes sending messages, getting messages back, and calling services if necessary.
