Individuals experiencing mental health issues are more likely to be unemployed, have less educational attainment, and receive lower pay than individuals who do not experience mental illness. These factors can accumulate into low self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness.
It is our responsibility as community members to help people who experience mental health issues find employment and attain a high level of education.
