Question Figure I shows a reinforced concrete column which is supported over pin support at the end “A” and roller support at the end “B”. “N” load is eccentrically applied to the column as shown. In the Ultimate Limit State (ULS), the “N” load is equal to 1400 kN (NE,I) and in Serviceability Limit State (SLS) with a quasi-permanent combination, “N” load is equal to 750 kN (NL).
