You will identify a Public Health problem and suggest a Public Health response (i.e. an intervention or series of interventions) to address the problem within 5 years. You will assume you have access to limited resources Your essay should deliver the following:

1. Provide an overview of the Public Health problem. o Using appropriate statistics to describe the scale and impact of the problem, and the known (or hypothesized) causal mechanisms. o Identify the group(s) or population(s) that your intervention will target and justify this focus.

2. Design an intervention to address your selected Public Health problem in your selected group(s) or population(s).

•  Explain what intervention component(s) you recommend for addressing this problem in the short term (5 years).
•  Describe the intervention component(s) in terms of who needs to do what. o Describe the intended impact of the intervention on the target group(s) or population(s).
• Explain how the intervention component(s) are hypothesized to achieve their impacts.
• Present the intervention timeline in the form of a Gantt chart (yearly). Use the Gantt chart template on Moodle.
• Critically evaluate the merits, limitations and challenges of your plan Include a clear, descriptive title at the beginning.

3. Critically assess your intervention plan. o Using appropriate evidence and theories, explain why you believe your intervention plan will be effective.

• Structure your essay using headings and sub-headings.

• All references used in the text must be included in the reference list, and vice versa.

 • Avoid paragraphs that are very long or very short. • Use bulleted / numbered lists sparingly.

• Use a sans-serif font (e.g. Arial, Verdana, Calibri) with a font size of 11.

• Use single line spacing, leaving a blank line between paragraphs. Please do not indent paragraphs.

• Include a page number at the bottom of each page.
